These Houses not only keep families close when they need each other most, but increases the ability for families to spend more time with their child, interact with their clinical care team and participate in critical medical care decisions.

As two of the seven Ronald McDonald Houses in North Carolina, located here in Greenville, and of the more than 365 worldwide, we are happy to open our doors to families of pediatric patients receiving treatment in area medical facilities.

Patients receive no medical attention or treatments at the House. Ronald McDonald House is nondiscriminatory and non-sectarian.

The Ronald McDonald Houses of Eastern North Carolina provide a temporary home, support and access to medical care for families of children who are receiving treatment from area medical facilities.

Our Houses provide a place for families to call home while their child is hospitalized or receiving treatment in area medical facilities. We are able to provide the basic necessities a family needs as well as the emotional support that comes from being surrounded by other families in similar situations. Ronald McDonald House of Eastern North Carolina is an independent, community supported 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides a temporary “home-away-from-home” for families of children who are receiving treatment in our community’s medical facilities.

Since 1987, the Ronald McDonald House of Eastern NC has had over 28,600 admissions and we continue to grow each year!

The Ronald McDonald House of Eastern North Carolina operates two Houses in Greenville to offer support to families in their time of need. The House on Moye Boulevard opened its doors in 1987. It offers families all the comforts of home, while being in close proximity to their child in the hospital. In 2013, a second Ronald McDonald House was opened inside the James and Connie Maynard Children’s Hospital at Vidant Medical Center. Both Houses offer housing and support to families in their time of need.

The Ronald McDonald House at Vidant Medical Center is located inside the James and Connie Maynard Children’s Hospital at Vidant Medical Center, just steps away from the pediatric units. This House is available to all families with children being treated at Vidant Medical Center, whether a child is staying long term or just coming for a day treatment. The House is also available to the 1West wing of the Children’s Hospital. There are 6 overnight bedrooms located in 2 different units of the James and Connie Maynard Children’s Hospital as well as a 2,500 sq.ft common area. When families come into this space, we want them to feel like they are away from the hospital setting without actually leaving the 4 walls of the hospital.
